The Ride

Road coming toward you
Lean is tight
Road moving away
Twist the throttle strong

There is way to live right
A way to get it wrong

Life brings both twist
And straights
Wanting one to be the other
Will only irritate

The bumps
Sometimes hitting them
Is the best way to beat them

No road is perfect
But all of them teach
Riding in the elements
Is not out of reach

Obstacles
Are more than distractions
They call for your
Most thoughtful actions

The mud and the dirt
I know less about
I do know sometimes
Life needs a shout

Knowing the next move
Depends on you seeing
Reality is the ride
