Happy days
Sad 70s songs
Throwing a green football
On a landscaped lawn
Can't play as long
Am not a quite as strong
What a blessing
To see the next generation
Get along
For all this reminiscing
About the good old days
So much was lived
In disfunctional haze
Budweiser pop tops
Added to the rage
WWII vets
With Archie Bunker chairs
Vietnam hippies
Growing long hair
Dazed and Confused
Sharing Quaalude stares
Give me some pluralism
And huggers of trees
Outrage about plastic bags
Blown to the ocean by a summer breeze
A shallower theology with more people
Hitting their knees
Give me health food
Filled with sugar
In plastic bowls
Give me women
Too strong
Way too bold
Give me more marriages
Where they have and they hold
Give me Love
Give me laughter
Give me a vision
For the joy of the hereafter
Give me friendship to fill my days
Lord give me wisdom
To see the goodness of this day!

You're in His presence now. I miss your laughter and hospitality and just hanging with your family.
ReplyDeleteYou had the heart of a Saint. You had the smile that lit up a room. A soul that could barely be tamed. You would never forget a person's name. Everyone was welcomed into your life - rich, poor, stranger, showing that was right. Now, here on earth things remain. Missing your blessings and feeling such pain. My brother in Christ, now full of light, say hi to the Lord for me - I think of that day I'll see you again also draped in white.
