You walked for miles to see your ailing child
Hard faced and praying for him with each passing mile.
Another boy had breathing difficulties and might have been frail,
But then there was that teacher, who knew he would never fail,
A daughter kind of wild who was pregnant for two and one half years,
She looked after your body as we all prepared to shed our tears,
A baby girl whose time was short after her birth,
I am sure she greeted you in heaven when you left us here on earth,
Another girl, with eyes that saw the world just like you,
It is all about your children you taught her that through and through,
Let’s not forget the boy who when you left became an old man,
He did not do it literally, but figuratively he always held your hand,
A cousin deserves props for Tuesday lunch drops,
As faithful as a son, his love has not diminished though your time with us done,
What shall I say about the writer of this verse
It is just a cheap substitute, because I miss you and want to converse.
We are coming up on a year Mom, It is hard I have to say,
Please kiss Dad and tell him we are all trying to make the most of each and every day.
